in mourning

Look at what someone or something (a squirrel perhaps?) did to my lone tulip. And because I didn't plant it, I'll never know what colour it would have been. I'm a little surprised at just how sad I am.

Hello kj’s muse, I WILL get the book, always do (except on very rare occasions), but I enjoy visiting the many charming second-hand bookstores still left in Copenhagen and meeting friends at the big ‘Dutch sales’ in town, so I support local trade the best I can. I also get 50-90% off the Amazon prize this way. Manguel’s book sold well here when it came out because of a big scandal at the Royal Library at the time, so it’ll be an easy catch, I think.
And, if you’ll allow me, the salt and pepper look is very nice, I’d say. Sontag looked great, don’t you think?

I WILL get the book ~ Good, I'm glad, otherwise I would have offered to mail you mine as I believe that strongly that it ought to be in your bookcase. Yes, you're right about Sontag of course. Love this pic in particular.
