purring

I find almost no other sound as comforting. Maybe in part because it's such an audible and immediate way of expressing contentment. Humming and singing come close I guess, but to me they just don't convey the same depth of satisfaction. Nah, I'll take a purring kitty any day.

My heart expands considerably when my girls are purring. It is a gift they give of their own free will, perhaps to tell me that they love me too and that all is right in their little worlds. And THAT makes me happier and more content.

Of course there is the saying 'a cat can purr its way out out of anything' (can't remember who, sorry). The devious little blighters could be trying to rack up brownie points in advance for when they do something naughty :)).

So true, and well put. Every household should be favoured by the presence of a cat, should it not? Thanks for stopping by!
